Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich (Printable Version)

Golden grilled bread with creamy peanut butter and sweet banana slices for a warm, quick snack or breakfast.

# Ingredients:

→ Bread

01 - 4 slices thick white bread

→ Spreads

02 - 2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
03 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

→ Fruit

04 - 1 ripe banana, thinly sliced

# Steps:

01 - Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice to ensure a golden, crispy crust when grilled.
02 - Flip the bread slices and spread peanut butter evenly on the side that will face inward in the sandwich.
03 - Distribute thin slices of ripe banana evenly over the peanut butter on two of the bread slices.
04 - Place two bread slices mayo side down on a preheated griddle or non-stick frying pan, then top with the remaining two slices peanut butter side down, so mayo faces outward.
05 - Cook over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes until the bread bottoms are golden and crispy, then flip carefully and grill the other side similarly until both sides are golden and filling is warm.

# Notes:

01 - Use mayonnaise instead of butter for an evenly golden crust. Press gently with a spatula during grilling for improved contact. Let the sandwich rest for one minute before slicing to allow the filling to set.
02 - Leftover sandwiches can be stored wrapped in foil in the refrigerator for up to one day and reheated in a pan to restore crispiness.
