Magical 30-Minute Dorito Bake (Printable Version)

Savory layers of seasoned beef, cheddar, and crunchy Doritos come together in just 30 minutes for a tasty dinner.

# Ingredients:

→ Meat and Seasoning

01 - 450 grams fresh ground beef
02 - 15 grams taco seasoning mix

→ Vegetables and Canned Goods

03 - 1 can (400 grams) diced tomatoes with green chilies

→ Dairy and Sauces

04 - 300 grams condensed cheddar cheese soup
05 - 120 milliliters whole milk
06 - 150 grams shredded sharp cheddar cheese

→ Crispy Layer

07 - 200 grams crushed Doritos, any preferred flavor

# Steps:

01 - Cook the ground beef over medium heat in a large skillet, breaking it up continuously, until fully browned and juices mostly evaporate, approximately 7 minutes.
02 - Incorporate the taco seasoning, diced tomatoes with green chilies, condensed cheddar cheese soup, and milk into the beef. Stir to combine, reduce heat and simmer gently for 5 minutes to meld flavors and slightly thicken sauce.
03 - Lightly grease a 23x33 cm baking dish. Spread half of the crushed Doritos evenly on the bottom to form a crisp base.
04 - Spoon the beef filling evenly over the Dorito base and smooth out with a spatula to ensure uniform coverage.
05 - Sprinkle remaining crushed Doritos over the beef layer, then distribute the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden in spots.
06 - Remove from oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes to let layers set for easier serving and optimal flavor integration.

# Notes:

01 - Crush Doritos immediately before use to preserve crunchiness. Freshly shred cheese from a block for best melt quality.
02 - Let the casserole cool slightly before serving to allow layers to set and facilitate slicing.
03 - Can be prepared ahead and refrigerated or frozen. Add final cheese topping before baking if assembling in advance.
