Pizza Grilled Cheese (Printable Version)

Crispy golden bread with melted mozzarella, pepperoni, and herbed garlic butter for a fast, flavorful meal.

# Ingredients:

→ Butter Spread

01 - 60 g unsalted butter, softened
02 - 15 g freshly grated parmesan cheese
03 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning blend (oregano, basil)
04 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder
05 - Pinch of salt

→ Sandwich Components

06 - 8 slices sturdy bread (sourdough or Italian), thick crust
07 - 120 g shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
08 - 120 ml thick pizza or marinara sauce
09 - 48 thin slices pepperoni (spicy or mild)

# Steps:

01 - Combine softened butter, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl. Mix thoroughly until smooth and evenly speckled with herbs.
02 - Place half the bread slices on a clean board. Evenly spread pizza sauce over each slice, covering edges. Layer shredded mozzarella cheese generously, then top with six pepperoni slices per sandwich. Cover with remaining bread slices and press gently.
03 - Spread a generous layer of the prepared garlic butter on the outer sides of all sandwiches, ensuring coverage to the edges for optimal browning.
04 - Heat a sturdy nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place sandwiches butter side down, cooking 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted and gooey. Monitor closely to avoid burning.
05 - Cut sandwiches in half while hot and serve immediately with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

# Notes:

01 - Use freshly grated mozzarella for superior melt and pull.
02 - Select thick crust bread such as sourdough to maintain sandwich structure.
03 - Leftovers store well refrigerated up to 2 days; reheat in toaster oven or skillet for best texture.
