Popeyes Cajun Rice Beef (Printable Version)

Fluffy rice cooked with seasoned ground beef, bell peppers, and Cajun spices for rich southern flavor.

# Ingredients:

→ Rice

01 - 200 grams long grain white rice

→ Meat

02 - 250 grams lean ground beef

→ Vegetables

03 - 120 grams diced bell pepper
04 - 100 grams finely diced onion

→ Liquids

05 - 480 milliliters beef broth, low sodium preferred

→ Spices

06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1 tablespoon Creole or Cajun seasoning
08 - ⅓ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
09 - ½ teaspoon celery seed
10 - ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

# Steps:

01 - Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add ground beef, diced onion, and bell pepper. Cook, stirring often, for about 10 minutes until beef is fully browned and vegetables are softened. Break up the meat for a fine texture.
02 - Add garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, celery seed, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir thoroughly to evenly coat the meat and aromatics, releasing their fragrant flavors.
03 - Pour in the beef broth and raise the heat to bring to a gentle boil. Stir in the long grain rice, then immediately reduce heat to low. Once the liquid settles, cover the skillet tightly and simmer undisturbed for 20 to 25 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
04 - Remove the lid and gently fluff the rice with a fork to separate the grains. Check for doneness and adjust seasoning if desired. If there is excess liquid, cook for an additional minute uncovered. Serve hot.

# Notes:

01 - To intensify flavor, briefly toast the rice with browned beef before adding broth. Let the rice rest covered off heat for 5 minutes before fluffing for perfect texture.
02 - Leftovers keep well in an airtight container for up to four days in the refrigerator and reheat gently with a splash of broth or water.
