In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground turkey, diced onion, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spatula, until the turkey is fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain excess liquid if needed, then return the turkey mixture to the skillet.

Pour spaghetti sauce into the cooked turkey mixture. Add 60 ml water by rinsing out the sauce jar and pouring the liquid into the skillet. Stir thoroughly to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer gently for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired.

While the sauce simmers, cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain well.

Add the drained spaghetti to the turkey sauce and toss until evenly coated. Serve immediately, topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil or parsley if desired.
