Philly Cheese Steak Joes (Printable Version)

A hearty blend of seasoned beef, peppers, onions, and melted cheese served on soft toasted brioche buns.

# Ingredients:

→ Proteins

01 - 450 grams lean ground beef

→ Vegetables

02 - 150 grams diced yellow onions
03 - 150 grams diced green bell peppers

→ Sauce & Seasoning

04 - 480 milliliters water
05 - 30 grams brown gravy mix
06 - 5 grams kosher salt
07 - 3 grams freshly cracked black pepper

→ Breads & Cheese

08 - 4 soft brioche buns
09 - 60 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
10 - 60 grams shredded cheddar cheese

# Steps:

01 - Preheat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it apart with a wooden spoon. Incorporate diced onions and green peppers, cooking while stirring frequently for 8 to 10 minutes until beef is fully browned and vegetables have softened, releasing their aroma.
02 - Carefully tilt the pan to discard any excess grease, ensuring the mixture remains ungreasy and not soggy.
03 - Add water to the pan, then sprinkle in the brown gravy mix along with salt and pepper. Stir constantly until the gravy mix fully dissolves. Continue simmering for 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the ingredients.
04 - Place halved brioche buns cut side up on a baking sheet. Toast in a preheated oven at 200°C for 4 to 5 minutes until edges are golden and tops feel slightly crisp.
05 - Remove the pan from heat. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the beef mixture. Stir gently until the cheeses melt together, creating a creamy, stretchy texture.
06 - Spoon a generous portion of the cheesy beef mixture onto each toasted brioche bun. Serve immediately while hot for optimal flavor and texture.

# Notes:

01 - For best results, toast buns thoroughly to create a sturdy base and prevent sogginess from the juicy filling.
02 - Grate cheese from blocks rather than using pre-shredded for a smoother melt and creamier texture.
03 - This mixture can be made ahead, stored refrigerated for up to three days, and reheated gently with a splash of water.
